Ratifying the constitution
On 18th June 2009, members of kayak4kids ratified the constitution and elected an executive committee who’s main priority will be to set up a kayak club for the kids of Salcombe and the surrounding area in time for the summer of 2010. In the meantime, it was agreed upon that members of kayak4kids will raise money for Friends of Salcombe School Association through any (kayaking) means necessary.
At the meeting, I gave a talk on the main objectives of kayak4kids which can be found on the home page and invited people to ask questions, raise concerns and also to give general advice. I feel that the input made by those who attended was fantastic and we have decided that the charity will be open to all those who register with the website and we will try to accommodate all those who would like to use the club. We would eventually like to extend our reach to every child in the South Hams and one day England & Wales. If you are a school and would like to find out more please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
I would like to thank all those who attended, especially Roger Moore (Mayor of Salcombe), Sue Warne (Headteacher of Salcombe C of E Primary School), Lonnia Balgalvis (Town Councillor), Katherine North (Exp!osures of Salcombe), Jeff Gillard (South Sands Hotel), James Spencer (Salcombe Genie), Janis Donnelly, Emillie Forrest-Jones, Dan Butterworth and Nick Sanders for all their fantastic and generous support.
The meeting concluded with the election of the executive committee (below) who will be on hand to help you with any questions you may have. We will soon be adding details on how to contact them but in the meantime please email me at the mentioned address or call on 07828 643 845.
