KAYAK4KIDS presents Kids And Young Adults Kayak School of Salcombe
From the beginning of June 2010, KAYAK4KIDS will be running a ‘sports day style’ club for kids in Salcombe. 50% of the spaces will be completely FREE to local children (those at Primary Schools who feed into Kingsbridge Community College). The remaining spaces will be offered at £25 each and can be taken up by anyone. So if you’re local, a part-time resident or just down here on holiday then give us a call to book your place for next year.

As we are in the early stages of the club we are unable to give a structured plan for you but don’t worry as we will post one up in the next few weeks. However we do know that the club will be split into two teams of 7 children. The Yellow Team will be run by Chris Bonnet whilst the Blue Team instructor is Dan Butterworth. The day will consist of lessons in equipment care, water safety & navigation rules, paddling techniques, proper use of safety gear, Salcombe harbour bye-laws and the Ria’s wildlife. Each team will also compete against each other through racing, slaloms, treasure hunts and much more. They will be having loads of fun whilst absorbing the fantastic surroundings of this unique town.
We also pride ourselves in ensuring the safety of all those who attend the club. We have a support boat which will be with the kayakers all day and will be helmed by a trained first aider.
